From Genesis to Revelation the scriptures are studded with innumerable promises of the Lord’s return.
1. “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near-at the doors! Matthew 24:32-33
2. “_______________ I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away,” Matthew 24:33-34
The Generation that sees The Sign of the Fig Tree fulfilled shall see all the signs fulfilled in their entirety with the personal appearing if the Lord Jesus Christ in the clouds of glory.
I. Moral Decadence
3. “But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the son of Man be.” Matthew 24:37
4. “For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah _____________ the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” Matthew 24:38-39

Obsession with sex is great evidence of moral decay. From cars to cosmetics, soap to swimsuits, ads in every media are saturated with erotically charged sexual appeals. Parents are made to look foolish, men made to look weak, and children pictured as superior. Marriage and faithfulness are portrayed as foolishness.
Authors of bestsellers create heroes out of prostitutes, pimps, street gangs and teenage delinquents.
We are living in the days of 2 Timothy 3:1-5
11. “But know this, that in the last day __________________ times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy…” 2 Timothy 3:1-2”
12. “…unloving, unforgiving, _________________, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather the lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!: 2 Timothy 3:3-5
What is the Church doing?
In many cases the church is cold or lukewarm and destitute of her first love.
Does she display Amazing Power or Amuse the Worldwith her impotence? Are we Feasting or Fasting? Offering Words of Life or Worn out Cliches?
Dead seminaries, dead preachers, dead deacon boards, dead sermons to dead church members.
Everything dead ought to be buried!
13. “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves _______________,…” 2 Timothy 4:3
14. “…and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, ________________ your ministry.” 2 Timothy 4:4-5

II. Be careful of thieves
25. Sin And Evil will rob you “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.” Matthew 24:12

27. Worldliness will steal Robe of Righteousness. “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 28.Luke warmness and indifference will rob you. “So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” Revelation 3:16
III. Cry of those who fell among the thieves.
29. “…And Saul answered, ‘I am deeply distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God has departed from me and does not answer me anymore….’” 1 Samuel 28:15

“A certain man.”
An unnamed man, old man, young man, good man, evil man, rich man, poor man, you, me, any man. He was going down from Jerusalem (Place of Worship) to Jericho (Place of Sin) and fell among the thieves. He could have been a backslider, or a young person brought up in a Christian home. He had treasures. He was robbed!
I. Treasures of the Christian
A. Salvation: His name is written in Heaven. He has peace, joy, power.
7. “The Lord is my light and my salvation: Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life” Of whom shall I be ______________? Psalm 2:71

III. Can lose Jesus by having only a form of Godliness. Church without power of the Holy Spirit has no message:

V. Can lose Jesus by a poor spiritual appetite:
Appetite=Joy of Salvation (Psalm 51-12) Strongest in those who “hunger and thirst”. Soul hunger will employ righteousness and the filling of the Holy Spirit.
A. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” Matthew 5:6
VI. Can lose Jesus by lack of love:
Love is the strongest sustaining power. Brings unity by binding God’s people into one. Love imitates God:
A. “Therefore be imitators of God as dear children, And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a _______________________ to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.” Ephesians 5:1-2
B. “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love, does not know God, for God is love.” 1 John 4:7-8
C. Love speaks one language:
a. “Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek his own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
b. “If someone says ‘I love God’ and hates his brother, he is a _______________; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?” 1 John 4:20

Joseph and Mary attended the Passover Feast in Jerusalem and when they had fulfilled the days and were returning home, they went a whole day’s journey before they realized they had lost Jesus, supposing Him to have been in the company.
I. How can we lose Jesus? By failing to pray:
Prayer is the communion between man and his Maker. It is an attitude of mind rather than an attitude of body, and it is a result of faith, rather than a repetition of wants. It is a universal urge of man, who is made in the image of God.
A. The Patriarchs set a proper example:
a. “Would You also destroy the righteous with the ___________?” cried our Abraham. Genesis 18:23
b. “So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend…”. “Then Moses said to the Lord, ‘See, You say to me, “Bring up this people” but you have not le me know whom You will send with me.
