II. The Effect of Conduct Upon Self.
A. Our Body
10. Does it make for purity?
“Do not lay hands on anyone hastily, nor share in other people’s sin;
keep pure.” 1Tim 5:22
11. “…because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy’.” 1Pet 1:16
12. Will it defile the body?
“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.” 1Cor 3:16-17
13. “And what agreement has the temple of God with? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: ‘I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” 2Cor 6:16
14. “Therefore ‘Come out from among them and be, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.” 2Cor 6:17
15. Is it habit forming?
“Jesus answered them, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin’.” Jn 8:34 (1Cor 6:12)
16. Is it a victory or a surrender?
“And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.” Rom 6:13
17. “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” Rom 8:37
18. “The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1Cor 15:56-57
B. Our Soul
19. Will it purify or wage war against your soul?
“Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another with a pure heart.” 1 Pet 1:22
20. “Beloved, I beg you as pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lust which war against the soul…” 1 Pet 2:11
C. Our Mind and Conscience.
21. Does it Edify?
“How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.” 1 Cor 14:26 (1 Cor 10:23)
22. Does it Defile the Mind?
“To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure, but even their mind and are defiled.” Titus 1:15
23. Is it Doubtful?
“But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.” Rom 14:23
24. Do you feel condemned by it?
“Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.” Rom 14:22
D. Our Stewardship.
25. Is it a Wise Use of Time?
“See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” Eph 5:15-16
26. “Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.” Col 4:5
27. Is it the Right Use of Money?
“Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.” 1 Cor 4:2
28. Is it the Right Use of Talents?
“Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.” Matt 13:22
29. Is it a Faithful Discharge of Responsibility?
“This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.” Titus 3:8

How should a believer know whether something, not specifically mentioned in the Bible, is right or wrong?
We can have a clear scriptural guide based on the eternal principles of the Word of God. Not an ever-changing, man-made list of things we are not to do.
I. We have Liberty in Christ:
1. “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Jn 8:32
2. “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free .” Jn 8:36
3. “One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully in his own mind.” Rom 14:5
4. “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be again with a yoke of bondage.” Gal 5:1
Just as liberty is limited in this land by-laws for the regulation of traffic and the protection of life and property, there are at least five general statements that limit our liberty.
A. Liberty is not given to make possible self-indulgence.
5. “For you, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” Gal 5:13
B. Liberty is not to be used as an excuse for enslaving habits.
6. “All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be under the power of any.” 1 Cor 6:12
C. Liberty is not for unedifying pleasures.
7. “All things are lawful for me, but not all things are; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify.” 1Cor 10:23
D. Liberty does not provide an excuse for hiding sin.
8. “…as free, yet not using liberty as a for vice, but as bondservants of God.” 1Pet 2:16
E. Liberty is not a license for hurting other Christians.
9. “But beware lest somehow this liberty of yours become a block to those who are weak.” 1Cor 8:9

II. What is the Cost of Giving Up? (Part Two)
A. You will lose your influence. People around us know that we are Christians. They know we changed from what we were, how we acted, how we talked.
20. “And the Disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.” Acts 11:26b
21. “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were
men, they were marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.” Acts 4:13
If we go back, they will wonder if we ever had what we professed. They will doubt our sincerity.
We are told: “You are the light of the world…” “Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify…” Matt 5:14-16
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor… it is then good for nothing…” Matt 5:13
Lost Influence! Lost Usefulness! Good for Nothing!
B. Lose Good Conscience, what a wonderful thing to have.
22. “Pray for us; for we are that we have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably.” Heb 13:18
23. “Then Paul, looking earnestly at the said, “Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this Day.” Acts 23:1
24. “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron…” 1 Tim 4:1-2
C. Lose Your Joy. There is great joy and strength in serving Jesus Christ.
25. “…Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord, Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is our strength.” Neh 8:10
26. “Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your Spirit.” Ps 51:12
27. “Happy are the people who are in such a state; Happy are the people whose _____.” Ps 144:15
28. “For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” Rom 14:17
D. Lose Your Soul.
29. “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” Mk 8:36
30. “If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands and two feet, to be cast into the fire.” Matt 18:8
31. “…And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Matt 25:46 (See Vs 31-46)
32. “…In flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power…” 2 Thess 1:8-9
III. Why give up?
33. “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not also freely give us all things?” Rom 8:31-32
34. “…Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.” Rev 2:10b

Bible Study For January 2024
Many people start out with the Lord and seem destined to lead the way, only to give up in the fight. Troubles and trials turn them back, they quit! Wave the flag of surrender before the battle is won.
1. “But Jesus said to him, ‘No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God’.” Lk 9:62
2. “I greatly regret that I have set up Saul as king, for he has turned back from following Me, and has not My commandments…”. 1 Sam 15:11a
3. “Now therefore, proclaim in the hearing of the people, saying, ‘Whoever is fearful and afraid, let him turn and at once from Mount Gilead.’ And twenty-two thousand of the people returned, and ten thousand remained.” Judges 7:3
4. “The children of_________________, being armed and carrying bows, turned back in the day of the battle.” Ps 78:9
We can hear the disappointment in Paul’s words when he speaks of Demas’ betrayal:
5. “… for Demas has me, having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica …”. 2 Tim 4:10a
Many early disciples of Jesus “went back and walked with Him no more” Jn 6:66
I. What are the reasons given for giving up?
A. The way is too hard! But this can’t be true:
6. “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matt 11:28-30
7. “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk .” Ps 84:11
8. “Good understanding gains favor, by the way of the is hard.” Prov 13:15
9. “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Phil 4:19
There is a throne of grace:
10. “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Heb 5:16
B. Because of persecution!
11. “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.” Jn 15:18
12. “These things I have spoken to you, That in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” Jn 16:33
13. “Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.” 2 Tim 3:12
Persecutions will come, but also great blessings from our Lord!
C. Loss of friends! True friends will never forsake you.
14. “A friend loves at all times, and a is born for adversity.” Prov 17:17
15. “A man who has friends must himself be friendly. But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” Prov 18:24
If you do lose friends because of your Christianity, know that you gain better, greater friends.
16. “You are my friends if you do I command you. No longer do I call you servants for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.” Jn 15:14-15
D. My family is against me being a Christian.
17. “When my father and mother me, then the Lord will take care of me.” Ps 27:10
18. “and a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.” Matt 10:36
19. “He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me.” Matt 10:37

New Bible study for December 2023
1. “Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was to us by those who heard Him…”. Heb 2:1-3
2. “…God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?” Heb 2:4
Many Ministers have used this text, “How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation…” as an Evangelistic tool. This letter to the Hebrews, however, was written to Christians. The author is telling believers, “Don’t Neglect the Gospel!”
As regards to the Gospel, we should not neglect:
3. To Believe:
“And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach to gospel to every creature. He who and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” Mk 16:15-16
4. To Defend:
“…just as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart,
as both in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers with me of grace.” Phil 1:7
5. Fight For:
“Beloved, while I was very to write you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.” Jude 3
6. To Disseminate:
“Therefore, those who were went everywhere preaching the word.” Acts 8:4
I. God’s word commands us to Evangelize the World.
7. “Ask of me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your .” Ps 2:8
8. “God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us, that Your way may be known on earth, Your among all nations.” Ps 67:1-2
9. “Oh sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among His people His wonders among all peoples.” Ps 96:1-3
We must do our part to fulfill these scriptures:
10. “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as they cover the sea.” Hab 2:14
11. “Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. He will not cry out, nor raise His voice, Nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth. He will not fail nor be discouraged, till He has established justice in the earth; and they shall wait for His law.” Is 42:1-4
We are to be a light to the nations.
12. “I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness, And will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the Gentiles, To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the prison, those who sit in from the prison house.” IS 42:6-7
13. “Then He said to them, ‘These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me,’ And He opened their understanding, that they might the Scriptures.” Lk 24:44-45
14. “Then He said to them, ‘Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sin should be preached in His name to all nations, at Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of these things.” Lk 24:46-48
15. “But you shall power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8
II. Our experiences at Calvary and The Upper Room (Holy Fire) commit us to evangelization.
16. “Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said: Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin .” Is 6:6-7
17. “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ Then I said, ‘Here I am! Send me.’ And He said, ‘Go, and tell this …” Is 6:8-9a
18. At Salvation Paul asked “…Lord, what do You want me to do? Then the Lord said to him, ‘Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do’.” Acts 9:6b
The commission is not optional.
Acts 1:8 does not say “may be witnesses”, but “you shall be witnesses”.
III. We risk God’s displeasure if we fail to Evangelize
19. “Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest truly is, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Matt 9:37-38
20. “But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle because the harvest has come.” Mk 4:29
21. “Do you not say, ‘There are still four months, and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.” Jn 4:35-36
22. “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” Ga 6:9
IV. We cannot escape because the need constrains us to give and go.
23. “There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, but it leads to .” Prov 11:24
We share our love of Christ when we are involved in World Evangelism.
