Four Great Powers (Part One)

New Bible Study For April 2025

There are many great powers, some physical, and some spiritual. There are four great powers that are prominent in the Word of God. All of these powers are available to the believer to use. However, it is up to the believer to appropriate these powers in their spiritual walk.

Power of the Word of God

1. “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the   of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”  Heb 4:12

2.

3. “Therefore, thus says the Lord God of hosts, because you speak this word, Behold, I will make My words in your mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.”

4.  Jer 5:14 (23:29)

5.

6. “And they were astonished at His teaching, for His word was with   .”  Lk 4:32

7. “Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were   and lame were healed. And there was great joy in that city.” Acts 8:5-8

8.

9. “So, the word of the Lord grew mightily and    .”  Acts 19:20

10. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the   of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.” Rom 1:16

11. “For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the     and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake.” 1 Thess 1:5

12. “For this they willfully forget; that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water. But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.”

Self-Examination)

New Bible study for March 2025

1. “But let a man examine himself and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks   to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.” 1 Cor 11:28-29

As we examine ourselves there are areas of our lives that need to come under that great light. Not just prior to partaking of communion, which is important, but we need to continually search ourselves to see if there are areas not pleasing to our God.

I.  Let us examine our companions:

2. “Blessed is the man who walks not in the   of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful, but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.” Ps 1:1-2

3. “He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the   of fools will be destroyed.” Prov 13:20

4. “Can two walk together, unless they are   ?  Amos 3:3

5. “Do not be unequally yoked together with   . For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: ‘I will dwell in them And Walk among them, I will be their God, And they will be My people.” 2 Cor 6:14-16

II. Let us examine our habits.

6. “No one can serve two  ; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” Matt 6:24

7. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a     ; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Cor 5:17

8. “Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that   with the world is enmity with God?” Js 4:4

9. “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of

is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world.” 1 Jn 2:15-16

III. Let us examine our thoughts.

10. “The wicked in his proud   does not seek God; God is in none of his thoughts.” Ps 10:4

11. “Also behind the doors and their posts you have set up your remembrance; for you have yourself to those other than Me, and have gone up to them; you have enlarged your bed and made a covenant with them; You have loved their bed where you saw their nudity.” Is 57:8

12. “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruits. Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the   of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasures brings forth evil things.” Matt 12:33-35

13. “So he answered and said, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself’.” “And He said to him, ‘You have answered   ; do this and you will live’.” Lk 10:27-28

IV. Let us examine our affections.

14. “He who loves father and mother more than Me is not   of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not   of Me. Matt 10:37

15. “And you will be   by all for My name’s sake.” Lk 21:17

16. “For to be carnally minded is death, but to be   minded is life and peace.” Rom 8:6

17. “If then you were raised      , seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” Col 3:1-3

18. “Be   to come to me quickly; for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world…” 2 Tim 4:9-10a

V. Let us examine our motives.

19. “And   you do in word and deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Col 3:17

20. “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give, either to the Jews or to the Greeks or to the church of God, just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.” 1 Cor 10:31-33
