Power in the Name of Jesus

13. “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with      ; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Mk 16:17-18

14. “But as many receive Him, to them He gave the right to become   of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”  Jn 1:12-13

15. “And whatever you ask in my name, that I will do, that the Father may be   in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”  Jn 14:13-14

16. “Then Peter said ‘Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.’ And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones      , so he, leaping up, stood and walked...”  Acts 3:6-8

17. “...let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you   , whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole.”  Acts 4:10

18. “Nor is there   in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”  Acts 4:12

19. “Therefore, God also has     Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”   Phil 2:9-11

20 “But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is not of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His     He entered the Most Holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.   Heb 9:11-12

21. “For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another; He then would have had to suffer since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, he has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice   .” Heb 9:24-26

22. “...knowing that you were not redeemed with   things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”  1 Pet 1:18-19

23. “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have   with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” 1 Jn 1:7

24. “...and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the   from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood...”  Rev 1:5

Power of the Holy Ghost

25. “Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness...”  Lk 4:1

26 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be   to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts 1:8

27. “When the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.”  Acts 2:1-2

28. “Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”  Acts 2:3-4

29. “But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh: Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams; And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy.”  Acts 2:16-18  (Joel 2:28-29)

30. “...how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”   Acts 10:38

31. “Therefore, I have reason to glory in Christ Jesus in the things which pertain to God. For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not accomplished through me, in word and deed, to make Gentiles obedient in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God...”  Rom 15:17-19

32. “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in   of the spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”  1 Cor 2:4-5

Four Great Powers (Part One)

New Bible Study For April 2025

There are many great powers, some physical, and some spiritual. There are four great powers that are prominent in the Word of God. All of these powers are available to the believer to use. However, it is up to the believer to appropriate these powers in their spiritual walk.

Power of the Word of God

1. “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the   of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”  Heb 4:12

2.

3. “Therefore, thus says the Lord God of hosts, because you speak this word, Behold, I will make My words in your mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.”

4.  Jer 5:14 (23:29)

5.

6. “And they were astonished at His teaching, for His word was with   .”  Lk 4:32

7. “Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were   and lame were healed. And there was great joy in that city.” Acts 8:5-8

8.

9. “So, the word of the Lord grew mightily and    .”  Acts 19:20

10. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the   of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.” Rom 1:16

11. “For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the     and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake.” 1 Thess 1:5

12. “For this they willfully forget; that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water. But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.”

2 Pet 2:5-7

Self-Examination)

New Bible study for March 2025

1. “But let a man examine himself and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks   to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.” 1 Cor 11:28-29

As we examine ourselves there are areas of our lives that need to come under that great light. Not just prior to partaking of communion, which is important, but we need to continually search ourselves to see if there are areas not pleasing to our God.

I.  Let us examine our companions:

2. “Blessed is the man who walks not in the   of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful, but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.” Ps 1:1-2

3. “He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the   of fools will be destroyed.” Prov 13:20

4. “Can two walk together, unless they are   ?  Amos 3:3

5. “Do not be unequally yoked together with   . For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: ‘I will dwell in them And Walk among them, I will be their God, And they will be My people.” 2 Cor 6:14-16

II. Let us examine our habits.

6. “No one can serve two  ; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” Matt 6:24

7. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a     ; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Cor 5:17

8. “Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that   with the world is enmity with God?” Js 4:4

9. “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of

is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world.” 1 Jn 2:15-16

III. Let us examine our thoughts.

10. “The wicked in his proud   does not seek God; God is in none of his thoughts.” Ps 10:4

11. “Also behind the doors and their posts you have set up your remembrance; for you have yourself to those other than Me, and have gone up to them; you have enlarged your bed and made a covenant with them; You have loved their bed where you saw their nudity.” Is 57:8

12. “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruits. Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the   of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasures brings forth evil things.” Matt 12:33-35

13. “So he answered and said, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself’.” “And He said to him, ‘You have answered   ; do this and you will live’.” Lk 10:27-28

IV. Let us examine our affections.

14. “He who loves father and mother more than Me is not   of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not   of Me. Matt 10:37

15. “And you will be   by all for My name’s sake.” Lk 21:17

16. “For to be carnally minded is death, but to be   minded is life and peace.” Rom 8:6

17. “If then you were raised      , seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” Col 3:1-3

18. “Be   to come to me quickly; for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world…” 2 Tim 4:9-10a

V. Let us examine our motives.

19. “And   you do in word and deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Col 3:17

20. “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give, either to the Jews or to the Greeks or to the church of God, just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.” 1 Cor 10:31-33

New Bible Study for February 2025

IV. Birthmark of Victory: The Born Again Man

Overcomes the world

14. “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our  .” 1 Jn 5:4

Is the Enemy of the World

15. “Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is

with God. Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” Js 4:4

Not conformed to the world

16. “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and   and perfect will of God.” Rom 12:2

Overcomes the world

17. “Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who   Jesus is the Son of God?” 1 Jn 5:5

Loves not the world

18. “Do not love the world or the   in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” 1 Jn 2:15

V. Birthmark of Love

19. “By this all will know that you are My  , if you have love for one another.”  Jn 13:35

20. “We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren…”

1 Jn 3:14a

21. “ , let us love on another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.” 1 Jn 4:7

22. “He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” 1 Jn 4:8

VI. Birthmark of the Spirit

23. “Do not   that I said to you, ‘you must be born again’. The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” Jn 3:7-8

24. “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God…” Rom 8:16

25. “And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, ‘Abba Father!’.” Gal 4:6

26. “Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He   in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.” 1 Jn 3:24

27. “He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the that God has given of

His Son.” 1 Jn 5:10

There is no guesswork about the experience of the New Birth.

Jesus told Nicodemus “…unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God.” Jn 3:5

It also should be noted that it was to this religious man that Jesus gave the words “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Jn 3:16

These gentle words were first spoken, not to a filthy sinner, but to a religious man who had no knowledge of the New Birth. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son…”

This is the basis for the new birth for all men everywhere!!!

Birthmarks (Part One)

New Bible Study For January 2025

Nicodemus is an example of many church members today:

Religious but didn’t know the meaning of being Born Again. A Pharisee who fulfilled religious duties. He was a church official and a man with authority. All of this; yet not born again.

Born Again means to be born from above or born anew. There are certain Characteristics or Fruits of this New Birth which we will label “Birthmarks”.
